I personally went through the donor recipient process with my best friend. I was so grateful for the gift of life that a total stranger had given to my best friend. At that moment, I knew that someone, somewhere was now grieving the loss of their loved one as we were rejoicing. Now, years later, this past June 2, 2015, I lost my son, Nick. Nick became a donor because of the amazing gift of life that my friend Rosie had received. Now someone received the gift of life from his liver. It was truly surreal to now be on the side of the donor family. I will always be in debt to The Living Legacy Foundation of Maryland for their timeless support to me and my family. They are true angels. I will always be an advocate for organ donation.
