Donate Life Maryland is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to saving and enhancing lives by registering organ, eye and tissue donors through the Maryland Donor Registry. Established in 2007 by The Living Legacy Foundation of Maryland, the Washington Regional Transplant Community and the Medical Eye Bank of Maryland, Donate Life Maryland is committed to giving every person waiting or scheduled for a transplant a second chance at life.
Until now, no registry has existed for those who wished to designate themselves as an organ, eye and/or tissue donor. Historically, while signing a donor card and placing the red heart on your license served as an important symbol of your intent, it did not place you on any list or registry.
Donate Life Maryland now allows you to express your commitment to becoming an organ, eye and tissue donor. The Registry guarantees your wishes will be honored when you die.
