Donor Designation Day 2015
October 6, 2015 is Donor Designation Day, celebrated in Baltimore and other cities nationally including Washington, D.C., and New York City. Research has shown that 95% of people support organ and tissue donation - yet only 56% are registered as donors in Maryland. Donor Designation Day is a day to ensure that EVERY person in the state of Maryland who wishes to save lives through the generous act of organ and tissue donation is designated in the Maryland State Registry. It only takes a minute to register but it can save someone's live forever. Please take that minute now to register as an organ, eye and tissue donor at www.DonateLifeMaryland.org/Register
Designating as a donor is a decision that should be celebrated and shared. After you register, please be sure to share your support for organ, eye and tissue donation with family and friends. A quick facebook post, tweet or conversation about your decision not only raises awareness for our life-saving cause but your message could inspire others to join too!
More than 122,000 Americans are currently waiting for a life-saving organ transplant. More than 3,635 are on the wait list in Maryland, with kidney being the most needed. Thank you for your support and for registering as an organ, eye and tissue donor.
